Our country faces challenge of electric supply since 2017. Not only will our power generation capability reduces, but power demand increase because of climate factors. In the past, the demand response programs focused only on high-voltage consumers who have only limited power saving tolerance as they have already implemented energy saving measures. In the future, focuses of demand response will turn to low-voltage consumers. Although there are large numbers of low voltage customers, but as their power consumption are low, the return of investment on low voltage customers are difficult to be justified. To overcome this obstacle, innovation and advanced demand response technology is the goal of global science and technology industries.
Institute for Information Industry (III) focuses on the development of Auto Demand Response (ADR) services, and has established the Demand Aggregator System. III is currently working on the development of next-generation IOE (Internet of Energy) technology with the goal to create low-cost, high reliability products, so that low-voltage customers can decrease their power consumption in an affordable way to help stabilize our grid system.
